HomeTrace for iPhone

HomeTrace Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 July 2026

HomeTrace is designed to provide property sales information while keeping data use limited to the map and search features you request. Location access is optional, and recent responses may be cached locally on your iPhone to improve performance.

1. Overview

HomeTrace is a free iPhone app that helps users explore nearby property sales, search by UK postcode and filter results by year.

This Privacy Policy explains what information HomeTrace may process, why it is used and what choices are available to you.

2. Location access

HomeTrace may process your precise location only if you grant the app permission to access it. Location access is used to centre the map and help find property sales near you.

Location access is optional. You can use HomeTrace without allowing it, and you can revoke permission at any time in iOS Settings.

3. Postcodes and searches

HomeTrace may process UK postcodes, areas and other searches that you enter in the app so that it can return the property sales results you request.

These searches are sent to the HomeTrace service only to provide the search, map and filtering functionality you have requested.

4. HomeTrace service and Apple Maps

When needed to resolve an address or centre a map, HomeTrace uses Apple Maps and Apple geocoding services. Apple may process requests under Apple’s own privacy policy and terms.

The HomeTrace service processes the location or search information needed to return the requested property sales results. HomeTrace does not use this information for advertising or unrelated profiling.

5. Local caching on your iPhone

HomeTrace stores recent responses locally on your iPhone using a cache. This can improve performance and allow recent results to be reused temporarily instead of requested again immediately.

The cache is local to the device. Deleting the HomeTrace app removes its local cache and app data from the device, subject to the normal operation of iOS.

6. Accounts, advertising, tracking and payments

HomeTrace does not require or create user accounts.

HomeTrace does not sell data, use advertising, track you across apps or websites, or process payments.

7. Your choices

You can decline or revoke location permission from iOS Settings. You can also remove recent local HomeTrace data by deleting the app from your iPhone.

You can choose whether to enter a postcode or other search. The app’s search functionality cannot work without the information needed for the particular search you request.

8. Information disclaimer

HomeTrace provides property sales information for general and informational purposes. Its results are approximate or otherwise subject to the limitations of the underlying data.

The information must not be used as a property valuation or as financial, legal or investment advice.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if HomeTrace, its supporting services or applicable requirements change. The date shown above will be revised when an update takes effect.

10. Contact
